Ken Parker grew up in Hayden and graduated from Hayden High School in 1986. After graduating from UAB with a degree in Comprehensive Science, he taught one year at Mortimer Jordan High School before returning to Hayden in 1993 as a seventh grade science teacher at Hayden Middle School. Since that time he has also taught Computer Applications, Physical Science and Physics and was hired as the assistant principal at Hayden High School in 2000.

Mr. Parker has been the HMS principal since the fall of 2003. In addition to his undergraduate degree, he also has a Master’s Degree in Chemistry and an Educational Specialist’s degree in School Leadership and Administration.
