Kimberly Morris is originally from McCalla, Alabama, and moved to Fayette County with her family in the late 70’s.  She attended Berry Elementary and High School where she graduated in 1987.  During her 10th grade year at Berry High she traveled to Matsudo, Japan where she was a foreign exchange student.  After high school she moved to Everglades City, Florida where she worked on a Pompano fishing boat.  She has lived in Aruba, Chicago, and Jacksonville, Florida before returning to Fayette County to raise her only daughter, Haley.  Ms. Morris is a graduate of Bevill State Community College with an Associate’s degree in Applied Science, the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, and holds a dual certificate in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education.   She also has a K-12 Physical Education endorsement.  Her University of Alabama graduate studies were a Marine Biology concentration and she studied at Dauphin Island Sea Lab and Keys Marine Lab in Long Key, Florida.  Before joining the HMS faculty, she worked as a 5th and 6th grade teacher at Berry Elementary School where she taught Language Arts, Science, and Reading.  She has completed both ARI-PAL and AMSTI training.  During the summer months Ms. Morris enjoys working and traveling overseas.  She has worked at the Lobster Research Lab in Caye Caulker, Belize, and at the Keys Marine Lab in the Florida Keys.  Ms. Morris’ daughter, Haley Kathryn is currently in her sophomore year at the University of Alabama.
